I just wanted to make a quick posting here to let people know what was happening with the site yesterday. It seems someone (me) forgot to renew the domain name registration, and as a result, the site was temporarily redirected to one of the standard parking pages at the registrar level. This has been addressed though, and we’re right back on track. Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere!
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but my recent time spent studying various trends online has kept me busy…and distracted. I’ve been interested in possibly trying to shoot some video, and post it up for mass consumption, but I’ve never actually done anything about it. Until now.
The original purpose of these videos is was to show someone how easy it was to drop one of my favorite little Firefox lithium polymer battery packs into a Systema PTW stock, with zero modifications, and run a MAX gun off of it. With the pack itself being relatively inexpensive, and with the high amperage output, it seemed a natural replacement for the overly expensive 12v factory battery. Of course, one of the future purposes of this technology is to of course just stuff it into the stock tube itself, and slap on a real steel stock of choice.
Anyway, have a peek over them, and let me know what you think. Please keep in mind that these are my very first attempts to put any video online, they were shot at 7am this morning, and there has been zero editing performed. This is straight out of an inexpensive point and shoot digital camera running video mode. The first video shows how to install the battery pack itself, and the second is a firing demonstration. I did a full-auto spray simply to show that it’s possible without the gun exploding. Enjoy!

Today marks the beginning of the next phase of Traders Airsoft. Welcome!
I’ve been doing a lot of personal research lately regarding where to really take this site, but more importantly, I’ve been contemplating if I wanted to take it there. For well over 2 years, the airsoft hobby has eaten up not only a massive chunk of money, but also time. During this time, I feel I’ve learned a ton about the hobby as a whole, and have something to offer to it. I still have a LOT to learn about things, but that’s one of the great aspects of this hobby, you can get as deep into it as you feel comfortable.
Since members of our forum have spread the word about our little corner here, I’ve seen a slow but steady increase in new people signing up, and starting to participate in the community. I would personally like to see more come from this site. Namely; news, reviews, and commentary on the hobby, from the people involved in it. I’ve had my own personal reservations about just being another site that posted news, but I want to try and possibly focus what’s out there a little better for our members, as well as provide more of a personal opinion on just what’s going on out there.
My ultimate goal is to involve as many of you as possible, and publish content from a team of writers pulled from this very community. That being said, feel free to let me know if you’d be interested in writing for the site. If you think we suck, let us know! If you want to show us how it’s done, I’ll dust off the soapbox for you! I want to see if our community can cause some change in this industry, and really let retailers and manufacturers know what we want, as well as let the world at large gain some insight into what this “airsoft” thing is all about.
And so begins another chapter…
